There's a rumor about x64 users who got their system p0wned by anti godlike powers after rebooting while the folder was opened.

cba to open up new thread:
is it reasonable to update from Vista to 7? will it boost performance,does it have better support/interface etc etc? im not currently running any demanding programs ie autoCAD, just some games that require somewhat from the puter i read somewhere that it could get better usage in x64 of over 4Gb RAM? the pain is that i have Vista Ultimate -> i would have to pay around 300€ to update, since only W7 Ultimate is possible for me commects, thoughts and taunts are welcome

Windows 7 is kind of "Vista 1.1". It's slightly better but not enough to upgrade, IMO.
If you have some extra cash, invest in extra RAM instead. RAM is cheap. Go for 8 GB (if your motherboard can support that). You will notice the difference, especially with memory-hungry Vista. -------------------- Dance to the beat of the living dead / Lose sleep baby 'n stay away from bed

I used it since the first RC. Never had a crash of any kind. All our latest purcheses of new computers have been with W7P. Everyone seems very comfy with that. Fast, stable - easy to adabt. --------------------  - There is a crack in everything - that's how the light gets in. |

ExT. I agree that 7 is the best OS Microsoft has released yet, but my point was that Vista is actually better than its reputation. 7 is better but difference is not that big.
